The Schellong test evaluates circulatory function. It is primarily used in cases of recurrent dizziness or unexplained brief loss of consciousness. The test determines whether the body can properly adjust blood pressure and heart rate when shifting from rest to an upright position (orthostatic response). If not, orthostatic dysregulation may be present.
